John 4:24 says that God is "seeking" or looking for true, authentic worshipers and this is the reason we desire to be a worshiping church. Our testimonies are of divine encounters with the Bondage-Breaker, the Healer, the Deliverer. We know that we are here only because He has saved us! Regional Church is celebrating one hundred years and counting! Founded in 1925 as Delbarton Church of God, we are a local body of believers affiliated with the Church of God, Cleveland TN. As our vision and our borders continue to expand, we are now known as *Regional Church*. West Virginia is our "Judea," the surrounding states and Appalachian region are our "Samaria," and as God continues to call members of our house to the mission field, we carry the gospel to the "uttermost parts of the earth" (Acts 1:8).** **Our mission is to impact our region and beyond for Christ by** The staff and leadership here at Regional Church are men and women who love, care and pray for every single person in the church. He has served on the staff of Delbarton Church of God/Regional Church since 1979, first in the roles of Youth Pastor and Associate Pastor, and presently serves in the capacity of Senior Pastor since 1992. He has a Masters Degree in Theology and an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Divinity through International Seminary. He is married to Regina Bias, who also serves on our staff, and they have three children: Eric (Brittney) Bias, Kaitlyn (Phil) Lucas, and Kassia (Jonathan) Godby. They have two grandchildren, Zerah and Gianna Bias. Eric is an Ordained Minister with Church of God, Cleveland, TN, since 2021. Although he has always had roles behind the scenes over the years, he and wife Brittney have served in official capacities on our staff since 2019. He has an Associate Degree from Full Sail University, in Recording Arts and Show Production. Eric is our Associate Pastor and also is Co-Worship Pastor alongside Brittney. Eric and Brittney have two children, Zerah and Gianna. Rick is an Ordained Bishop with the Church of God, Cleveland, TN, since 2000. He serves in the role of Associate Pastor since 2017, returning to us in that role a second time after serving as a pastor in the state of Kentucky for several years. He has a Bachelors Degree in Theology through International Seminary. He is married to Kimberly Hisle, and he also serves as a hospice chaplain with AHC. Brittney is an Ordained Minister with the Church of God, Cleveland, TN, since 2021. She serves alongside her husband, Eric, in the role of Worship Pastor since 2019. Brittney graduated from Liberty University in 2024 Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Business Administration, Counseling and Theology. She is the mother of two children, Zerah and Gianna Bias. Regina is an Ordained Minister through Rhema Christian Center. She has served in various capacities on our church staff since 1979, previously as a Youth Co-Pastor alongside her husband, Mitchell, an Administrator for Regional Christian School and Ambassador Christian Academy, Youth Pastor, Teacher, College & Career Ministry, Small Groups Director; and currently as Discipleship Pastor. She and Mitchell have been married since 1978, and they have three children: Eric (Brittney) Bias, Kaitlyn (Phil) Lucas, and Kassia (Jonathan) Godby. They have two grandchildren, Zerah and Gianna Bias. Lisa is an Ordained Minister through Church of God, Cleveland TN since 2018. She began serving on Regional Church's staff full-time in 2004 after nearly 20 years of administrative work in the secular realm. She is also an author, a blogger with her own website, [CallThoseThings.com](https://callthosethings.com), and a musician who plays the keyboard and saxophones with the Regional Worship Band. She and her husband, Dana, are both lifelong residents of Mingo County, long-time members of Regional Church, and have been married since 1996. Sonya has served as Secretarial Assistant to Pastor Mitchell since 2011. She is a master of organization and our "detail lady." Sonya also serves as a keyboard player and music director for Regional Worship Band. She and husband Gary are members of Regional Church and have three children: Stacy (Brandon) Moore, Megan Dean and Isaiah (Millie) Hackney. They have two grandchildren, Harper and Zoey Moore. Deanna is a long-time member of Regional Church. She and her late husband, Tommy, served for over 25 years as Ministers of Music for Regional, back to the Delbarton Church of God days and the early ministry of Pastors Mitchell and Regina Bias. Under their direction, our choir was asked to minister in Europe for the Church of God Ministry to the Military. Not only does Deanna have a beautiful soprano voice, but she also has renowned creative gifts and brings excellence to everything her hands touch. She choreographs dance/flag ministry presentations, she directs the bi-annual Easter musical, Bow the Knee (with cast/crew of 100+!), and directs the Regional Church choir. Dee oversees beautifying our church for seasonal/holiday celebrations, she engineers the audio for our Sunday livestream...and, she's the lady who coordinates all those hospitality treats every Sunday. Her son, Cole, is her pride and joy, and he is also an extension of both parents' creative giftings. [Richard, Dee, and Kim are long-time members of Regional Church, and are second generation children's ministers who learned to serve at an early age. For over 25 years, they have sown countless hours planning and carrying out weekly programming and activities for children, and now they minister to kids twice weekly, on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. They have an extremely-capable team of volunteers who work well together, and annually pull off dynamic Vacation Bible School events, Christmas presentations, kids' trips, and numerous fun activities throughout the year; but their passion is to develop and disciple little ones to grow up as strong, lifelong believers in Jesus. Most recently, the team added boys' and girls' clubs to the RegionalKidz offerings.](a) Rich is a retired corrections officer and soccer coach, and Deanna Kaye and Kim are teachers in the Mingo County School system and involved in Beta Club. Rich and Dee have been married since 1993 and are proud parents of Austin (Piper) and Jayden; they also have two beautiful grandchildren. [**Michael & Tommie Pennington**](mailto:regionalstudents@regionalchurch.org) - *RegionalStudents Pastors* Michael and Tommie Pennington serve as Pastors to our Middle/High School Students Ministry, RegionalStudents. Having completed the Ministry Internship Program (MIP), they are now Ordained Ministers with the Church of God. Both have been passionately following and serving the Lord since their own teenage years. They and their team weekly lead a powerful worship and teaching experience for our teens, in the Sunday School hour and also on Wednesday evening, and are building a next generation of strong believers. They also plan fun trips and activities as well. Tommie is a graduate of Ambassador Christian Academy, and serves on the building management staff of Regional Church. Michael is a graduate of Tug Valley High School, and currently works as a Financial Manager. Married since 2018, Michael and Tommie are proud parents to their son, Malachi Wild Pennington. The Church of God believes the whole Bible to be completely and equally inspired and that it is the written Word of God. RegionalKidz' mission is to help kids find their way back to God, connect with others, and contribute to changing the world. We believe that kids have the capacity to walk intimately with God, and we love to see them learn about Him and connect with Him through Bible stories, songs, and crafts. And we always eat together! We even plan outings during the year as well as Vacation Bible School mid-summer. Every Sunday morning at 11am and Wednesday evening at 6:30pm, we provide a safe environment for kids from birth through age 12 where they can learn about Jesus and connect with each other. Our midweek bus ministry runs buses in the Delbarton area beginning around 5:45pm each Wednesday. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our ministry, and it’s an honor to serve with each and every one of them as they love on kids each week! Every volunteer and ministry leader serving in RegionalKidz is required to have a background check and is committed to making the ministry a safe, Biblically-relevant, and fun environment for your kids. They have embraced the Micah 6:8 vision and are becoming the next generation of world changers. This moment in life can be both amazing and hard, and our community of students have shown love for each other and for spreading the love of Jesus to our community and beyond. RegionalStudents provides a place for students to begin a relationship with Jesus, through which they will discover everything God made them to be. Our students learn to live the best kind of life by caring about the things God cares about - justice, mercy, humility and love. We meet for Sunday School at 10am and again on Wednesdays at 6:30pm for youth church. Buses run in the Delbarton area beginning at 5:45pm on Wednesdays. We have a dynamic team of youth leaders, and we encourage parents to be involved. Considering that the early church worshipped in large settings in the synagogues as well as in homes, we unite together similarly in order to be in deeper fellowship with God and one-another. God has reconciled us not only to Himself but also to each other. This "each other" is called His Church. Thus, we intentionally strive toward community through men's/women's groups, home gatherings, and other personal settings. We have been created to live in community and not in isolation. Physically, we do live in a community, but spiritually, socially, and relationally we often live our lives in isolation. We find ourselves with no one to turn to when we have a major issue that has just surfaced in our life. Living in community affords us the opportunity to more wholly experience God through close relationships as we play and pray together, as we encourage and help one another, and as we study and live out God’s word together. We believe the church is the family of God called to live on mission to advance His Kingdom. Because we are God's children through Jesus, we are to live as brothers and sisters. The church is not a building, place, or program, but God's people. Living in community with one another is essential to growing in the Gospel and becoming more like Christ. Showing up to a Sunday gathering is great, but it is our desire to see everyone involved in a Missional Community. A Missional Community is not a mid-week program, but a family of missionary servants who are making disciple-making disciples daily. We would love to see all of our Missional Communities hanging out throughout the week, eating meals together and serving their neighborhoods. It is not something you check off a list, but a way of doing life.
